Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Sep 14
Manzone's 2010 Barolo Bricat is very pretty. Small red berries, mint, licorice, cinnamon and rose petal meld together in an understated Barolo that shows the more finessed, feminine side of the year. The sweet, perfumed finish is particularly of note. This is an especially graceful Barolo from Manzone, yet there is plenty of underlying tannin in the background. The flavors are bright and focused throughout.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
